6-Day Kruger National Park Safari A Classic Kruger Safari at a Relaxed Pace

Our 6-day Kruger safari is designed for travellers who want to slow down and experience more of South Africa's most famous wildlife destination. Beginning at Eastgate Airport, you'll spend five nights inside Kruger National Park, with the flexibility to stay either three nights in Satara and two nights in Skukuza, or two nights in Satara and three nights in Skukuza, depending on your preferred style of safari. Your safari can conclude at either Skukuza Airport for convenient onward flights from within the park, or at Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA), giving you the flexibility to choose the departure option that best suits your travel plans. With additional time in each region, you'll enjoy unhurried game drives, excellent opportunities to search for the Big 5, and more chances to witness the unexpected moments that make every safari unique. If you're looking for a balanced itinerary that combines exceptional wildlife viewing with a relaxed pace, our 6-day Kruger safari is an outstanding choice.

More Time to Experience Kruger, Not Just See It

The greatest advantage of a 6-day Kruger safari is not simply an extra day—it is the freedom that comes with it. Five nights inside the park allow us to slow the pace, spend longer in productive wildlife areas and enjoy each game drive without feeling the need to move on too quickly. Some of the most memorable safari moments happen when you have time to wait, observe and let nature unfold at its own pace.

Depending on your preferences, your safari can include either three nights in Satara and two in Skukuza, or the reverse. This flexibility allows you to spend more time exploring Kruger's famous central grasslands, known for exceptional predator sightings, or the diverse southern region around Skukuza, where rivers, woodlands and open plains support an incredible variety of wildlife.

Staying inside Kruger National Park means every morning begins as the camp gates open, when wildlife is often at its most active. Without long transfers from outside the park, we maximise our time in the field while remaining flexible throughout the day. If a sighting deserves another few minutes or a quieter road looks promising, there is no pressure to follow a rigid schedule.

This balanced itinerary is ideal for travellers who want to experience Kruger at a relaxed pace while still exploring two of its most rewarding regions. Rather than measuring success by the number of sightings, we focus on creating an authentic safari where every day has the opportunity to be different.

Your 6-Day Kruger National Park Safari Itinerary

Every 6-day Kruger National Park safari follows the same relaxed philosophy while remaining flexible enough to adapt to wildlife movements and your preferred camp combination. Whether you choose three nights in Satara and two in Skukuza or the reverse, each day is planned around the best wildlife opportunities rather than a rigid schedule, allowing every safari to unfold naturally.

Day 1

Eastgate Airport to Kruger National Park

Your 6-day Kruger National Park safari begins when your guide welcomes you at Eastgate Airport before travelling into Kruger National Park. Wildlife viewing starts immediately as we make our way towards your first rest camp, stopping whenever exciting sightings present themselves. After settling into camp, there is time to relax before dinner and your first evening surrounded by the sounds of the African bush.

Day 2

Full Day Game Drive

We leave camp as the gates open to take advantage of the cooler morning hours when wildlife is often at its most active. Rather than following a fixed route, every game drive responds to recent sightings, changing conditions and your interests, giving us the freedom to spend more time wherever the action is unfolding.

Day 3

An Extra Day to Explore

One of the greatest advantages of a 6-day safari is having an additional full day to explore without feeling rushed. If you've chosen to spend three nights in Satara, we'll continue discovering its famous predator country and open grasslands. If you've opted for three nights in Skukuza instead, we'll enjoy more time exploring the rivers, woodlands and diverse habitats that make southern Kruger so rewarding. The extra day provides greater flexibility to revisit productive areas and enjoy wildlife encounters at a relaxed pace.

Day 4

Journey Between Kruger's Wildlife Regions

Today we gradually travel between Satara and Skukuza, depending on where your safari began. Rather than simply transferring camps, we turn the journey itself into an extended game drive, exploring changing landscapes, stopping at productive waterholes and enjoying the variety of wildlife found between these two famous regions.

Day 5

Discover More of Kruger

Today is dedicated to exploring the region surrounding your second rest camp. With no pressure to cover long distances, we can follow promising sightings, revisit favourite roads or simply enjoy quieter areas away from the busier sections of the park. Every safari is different, and having extra time often leads to some of the most memorable wildlife encounters.

Day 6

Final Morning Safari and Departure

We enjoy one final early morning game drive before breakfast, making the most of the last hours of your safari while wildlife is still active. Afterwards, we make our way towards your chosen departure airport. Depending on your onward travel plans, you'll be dropped off at either Skukuza Airport or Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA), bringing your 6-day Kruger National Park safari to a memorable conclusion.
