Kruger National Park Private Safaris

Experience a Kruger National Park Private Safari

There's a particular kind of safari that only happens when nobody else is in the vehicle with you. No fixed itinerary to follow, no other guests pulling the day in a different direction — just you, your guide, and Kruger National Park unfolding at its own pace. That's what a private safari with Eugene Safaris is built around.

Every Kruger National Park private safari we run is shaped entirely around the people in the vehicle. How long you sit with a leopard in a marula tree. Which roads you skip because the morning's already given you what you came for. Whether today turns into a birding day because the rollers are putting on a show. The park doesn't change for anyone. How you get to experience it does.

Why Choose a Private Kruger Safari

Most game-viewing vehicles in Kruger carry eight, ten, sometimes more people, each with a slightly different idea of what makes a good sighting. A private Kruger National Park safari takes that compromise off the table completely. If three buffalo bulls step onto the road and you'd rather sit and watch where they're heading, you sit. If everyone in your group would rather skip the rest camp shop and chase the last good light instead, that becomes the new plan.

Eugene has spent his life reading this bush — where the cats move at first light, which waterholes hold the best birding, what a particular alarm call usually means. A private vehicle means that knowledge gets used for you, and nobody else. It's a more attentive, more personal way through Kruger, and most people who try a private safari once find it hard to go back to a shared safari truck.

Our Slow Safari Philosophy

We don't measure a safari by how many camps you can squeeze into a week. A slow, private safari means longer at sightings and fewer kilometres rushed between them — staying with a pride until the cubs wake up properly, rather than ticking the box and moving on because the schedule says so.

It also means paying attention to what most vehicles drive straight past — a chameleon working its way along a branch, a dung beetle rolling its prize across the road, the particular quality of light that only shows up an hour before sunset. A private safari gives us the freedom to actually stop for these things. That's the whole point of going private in the first place.

Private Safari or All-Inclusive — What's the Difference?

Private describes how we guide: one vehicle, one group, no shared schedule. Whether that private safari is also fully all-inclusive — accommodation, meals, transfers and all — depends on how much of the planning you'd rather hand over.

Most guests choose one of our all-inclusive Kruger National Park safari packages, where every private game drive, rest camp stay and meal is arranged ahead of time, so the only real decision left is what time to wake up. If you'd prefer something more built to order — a shorter private drive, a custom route, a birding-only focus — get in touch directly and we'll talk through what fits.

Either way, the vehicle stays private. That part never changes.

What Guests Say

Thoughtful guiding, a relaxed pace, and the kind of safari moments that stay with you long after Kruger.

Nicole

A trip of a lifetime that exceeded all our expectations! Our personalized tour guide, Eugene, has extensive knowledge of animals and Kruger. This allowed us to explore quieter roads and enjoy sightings where we were often the only vehicle.

Isla

Eugene was amazing! We saw the Big 5 before 9am on our first morning. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife and knew all the routes like the back of his hand. We also loved our evening braais. Thanks so much for a fantastic safari experience!

Henry

We had an amazing time on safari with Eugene guiding us. He was super knowledgeable about all the animals and birds – we saw the Big 5 and more. He was always up before us preparing the vehicle and finished the day with incredible braais. Highly recommended for anyone wanting an expert guide with relaxed vibes!

Meet Your Guide: Eugene Booysen

Eugene Safaris is a small, owner-led operation built around one idea — that a private guide who actually knows Kruger beats a packed itinerary every time. Eugene Booysen has spent years guiding inside the park, and every private safari he runs carries that experience: better positioning at sightings, a feel for animal behaviour, patience for the smaller stuff most people miss entirely.

This isn't a rushed, one-size-fits-all operation. It's one guide, one vehicle, and a genuinely personal way to experience Kruger National Park.
