The KRUGER Experience
I have been going on safari in Kruger National Park ever since my mind came to be, I've done selfdriving with the parents, I guided in Kruger for some time and even joined a few safaris. And from them all, the best experiences were the trips where we stayed inside Kruger National Park rest camps. To me, this is the true Kruger experience, being able to wake up inside the Kruger rest camps and you start your safari in the early hours of the day.
With this in mind we will be able to slow things down and have a look at all things, and not have to rush from area to area in search of animals because we will have to get back to the gate closest to your accommodation.
Most safaris in Kruger National Park try to find the big five and this becomes the main objective. Now I know many visitors come here to see them, but if you have more time in the park itself, finding the five becomes more of an extra activity rather than the safari itself.

Why staying INSIDE Kruger Park matters
For me, staying inside Kruger Park gives you access to areas in the Park that have a good concentration of animals, and generally you have a window of quietness before the day visitors arrive.
Now many times, people don't want to stay in the Kruger accommodation as it can be a bit dated, but SANparks have recently started redoing their bungalows. Now it will still be some time before the entire park is done, but even in its classic state staying inside Kruger bungalows is timeless.
Inside the park, if you are not next noisemakers (most people respect the quietness), you experience that calming effect that the Kruger can give you when there is no sound of an engine, music and modern technology. I love the fact that some places the internet is generally not good, and this allows you to break away from the things that disctract you from the natural world.
A day on SAFARI in Kruger
Every day has something different to offer once you leave gates in the morning. But everyday starts with a coffee and some rusks as we listen to the bush waking up around us. With the sun sneaking over the horizon we leave the rest camp on the open safari vehicle and start our day, no queues, because we are already on safari inside Kruger National Park.
Your guide is usually wide awake in the early hours, so if I heard lions roaring or something interesting during the night we might go and see if we can find it.
The mornings are some of the most important hours in the bush. The light is beautiful, the animals are active and, by staying inside the park, we can make the most of those early hours before the outside crowds arrive.
As the day warms up, we look for animals, read tracks and pay attention to the smaller details that are easy to miss when you're rushing from one sighting to the next.
Around 11 o'clock, we'll find a quiet place to stop for a picnic and take a break before continuing our day.
There is no need to know exactly what we will find. That's part of the excitement. We listen, we look, we track, and we see what Kruger brings us.

Your guide, Eugene
Hey, I am Eugene Booysen, owner and I'll be the person behind the wheel and guide you throughout your Kruger experience. I grew up not too far from Kruger and the bush have been part of my life as long as I can remember.
I've also spent time working at lodges and in other parts of Africa, where I developed my own approach to guiding and hospitality. I believe guests should have the freedom to enjoy the bush in their own way, without feeling like they are being rushed from one sighting to the next.
My role is to guide you, read the bush, make the decisions when we need to, and hopefully share some of the excitement I still feel every time I head out into Kruger.
I'm here to share a place that has become a part of me, and hopefully leave you with a feeling that you've connected with Kruger too.
