7-Day Kruger National Park Safari Our Most Complete Big 5 Safari Experience
Spend a full week exploring Kruger on a private safari designed to maximise your wildlife viewing opportunities. Over a 7 day Safari in Kruger National Park, you'll travel through some of the park's most productive habitats, increasing your chances of seeing the Big 5, encountering a wide variety of wildlife, and experiencing the diversity that makes Kruger one of Africa's greatest safari destinations. With a relaxed pace and your own dedicated guide, this all inclusive itinerary offers the most immersive way to experience the park.
Why Seven Days Makes a Difference
Wildlife doesn't follow an itinerary and with a full week in Kruger National Park this gives you the time and flexibility to experience the park properly, rather than simply rushing between sightings.
Explore Multiple Regions
Kruger National Park is nearly 20,000 square kilometres in size, with each region offering its own landscapes, wildlife densities, and unique character. A seven-day safari allows us to explore multiple areas of the park rather than focusing on a single section.
More Opportunities for Exceptional Sightings
Extra days naturally increase your chances of encountering the Big 5, predators, and some of Kruger's more elusive species. If a sighting doesn't happen today, there is still time tomorrow.
A More Relaxed Safari Pace
One of the greatest benefits of a week-long safari is the ability to slow down. Longer stays mean less time travelling between camps and more time enjoying wildlife sightings, photography opportunities, and the atmosphere of the African bush.
Better Birding and Photography
Seven days provides the flexibility to focus on specific interests. Whether you're hoping to photograph a leopard in perfect light or add new species to your bird list, additional time creates more opportunities to achieve your goals.

7-Day Kruger Park Safari: The Itinerary
No matter which level of hosting you choose, you will share the exact same incredible routes, wildlife viewing tracks, private safaris and classic rest camp locations with your professional guide.
Days 1 - 2: Entry at Orpen Gate & The Plains of Satara
Your safari begins with your arrival at Eastgate Airport (Hoedspruit). After meeting your guide, we make the short drive to Orpen Gate to enter the park. The route toward Satara immediately introduces you to a variety of wildlife and then entering open savannah landscapes—renowned as the predator capital of Kruger due to the high density of lion prides, cheetahs, and hyenas that hunt in these wide-open spaces.
Over these two days, we will embark on early morning and late afternoon game drives along the famous S100 and Nwanetsi river roads, maximizing our chances of witnessing active big cat behavior.
Fully Hosted Tier
Your guide prepares classic bush breakfasts at picnic spots and handles traditional wood-fired braais under the stars back at the Satara communal cooking bomas.
Flexi-Safari Tier
Enjoy evening flexibility. Cook your own dinner on your bungalow’s private braai grid, or dine at the on-site Satara restaurant after your game drive.
Days 3 - 4: Down the Spine of Kruger to Skukuza
On Day 3, we pack up early and execute a slow, game-drive traverse heading south. As we move closer to the Sabie River system, the vegetation thickens into dense riverine woodlands—prime territory for the elusive leopard and massive herds of elephants.
Our home base for the next two nights is Skukuza Rest Camp, the historic heart of Kruger. From here, we patrol loops along the riverbanks where hippos wallow and crocodiles bask, providing fantastic visual framing for wildlife photography.
Fully Hosted Tier
All meals are seamlessly provided. Enjoy cooked meals at your bungalow, on drive at picnic sites managed entirely by your guide.
Flexi-Safari Tier
Take advantage of Skukuza’s extensive infrastructure. You can visit the Cattle Baron restaurant, grab snacks at the large park shop, or self-cater at your leisure.
Days 5 - 7: Granite Kopjes, Rhino Country & Skukuza Departure
We change environments completely on Day 5 as we venture to Berg-en-Dal Rest Camp, tucked away in the rugged, mountainous southwestern corner of the park. This area is characterized by striking granite hills (kopjes) and unique woodland flora, offering a completely different aesthetic for your photos. It is also an absolute stronghold for both white and black rhinos.
On Day 7, we run one final early morning safari drive as we make our way back toward the center of the southern block, dropping you off directly at Skukuza Airport for your flight out.
Fully Hosted Tier
Your final nights feature hearty, traditional campfire dinners prepared by your guide amidst the quiet, scenic hills of Berg-en-Dal.
Flexi-Safari Tier
Prepare meals at your leisure in the peaceful camp surroundings or visit the local camp cafeteria before packing for your departure flight.
